The Ranch Country Club golf course has grown steadily in beauty and maturity since opening 1974. Our course, designed by Richard Phelps, is a blend of beautiful, rolling terrain and endless vistas challenging enough for the most discriminating golfer.

The Course

Ours is a 6,656/5,519-yard course with a rating of 71.8 and 71.3 from the back and forward tees, respectively. The new 1 and 2 Horse combo tee gives the golfer an option to play a 6,438-yard golf course by playing from the 1 Horse tee on 11 holes and from the 2 Horse tee on 7 holes. The arrows on the scorecard indicate which tee to play.

The course rating/slope for this combination is 70.6/134. We also now have a 2 and 3 Horse combo tee option that plays to 6,012 yards and has a rating/slope of 68.9/127. The golfer who chooses this option will play from the gold tees on 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 12, and 14 and from the white tees on the remainder of the holes.

Ed’s Teaching Philosophy

Playing better golf means shooting lower scores. Ed will work with you to develop a plan to help you do just that — and enjoy the game more. He believes in coaching the individual. No two golfers are alike. There is not one perfect swing that will work for everyone. Each person’s swing has been influenced by many things, including body type, flexibility, beliefs and the environment and conditions where they play or learned to play.

The Hall of Fame is full of swings that are unique. Through goal setting, practice planning, and overall game analysis, Ed can work with you to create an organized and logical approach to your improvement. The priorities are ball control with the full swing and short game, self-control in the mental game and good course management and decision-making. Ed’s approach to learning golf is based on effective motor skill learning and performance.
